Busy busy busy

A commission I did for the husband of one of my high school English teachers Its sooort of an interpretation of one of the lines from my favorite scene in this book that she let me borrow when I was in 9th grade (its still one of my all time favorites). If you can guess which book its from you are an awesome person!

Haha, so this is supposed to be a gift from the commissioner to his wife, but then ~SailorPretty walked in while I was working and I asked him what he thought and he was like "it scares me." lol. Sadly I'm not that great at making holiday gifts, oops.

The bird is a Western Tanager btw, I had mistakenly thought the scene took place on the west coast of the Americas but its actually supposed to be on the east side, so boo for me XC Fun bird, though.
